A sea of bonnets greeted me as I shuffled, shivering, into the bustling back room where volunteers busily made donuts for the Virginia Mennonite Relief Sale at 6 a.m on Saturday, Oct. 4.

During my first two years at EMU, I thought that it was impossible to faithfully follow Jesus in Harrisonburg. I was frustrated with the complacency I saw here and wanted to drop out of school, move to Uganda, and actually do something instead of just talking about it!
