On Friday, Oct. 3, all EMU students were invited to the President’s reception room to participate in an open forum with Sam Rasoul, the youngest congressional candidate in the country.

General Nash stirred up a loud, high-energy performance Saturday night. Students piled into Common Grounds waiting for the band to begin, some taking advantage of food and snacks that were available at the show. In their first performance, the cover band packed Common Grounds for their 9 p.m. show.

A sea of bonnets greeted me as I shuffled, shivering, into the bustling back room where volunteers busily made donuts for the Virginia Mennonite Relief Sale at 6 a.m on Saturday, Oct. 4.

This weekend there are a wealth of activities; homecoming enhances and exposes our Mennonite sense of community by bringing us together in a festivity of food, sports and the arts.

Amidst other homecoming celebrations and activities, four EMU teams will contend in games this Saturday that have historically been some of the most spirited games of the season, supported by stands packed out with excited, cheering fans.

You may have never heard of Matt Nathanson, but that is no reason to dismiss his sound or his ability to write great music. He is no stranger to the music industry, and has actually released six albums.
