Player of the Week: Megan Good

Good's last two games resulted in .350 and .360 hitting percentages.
In a pair of ODAC contests last week, junior middle blocker Megan Good contributed some solid numbers for the Lady Royals. In games against Sweet Briar and Roanoke, she posted a .350 and a .360 hitting percentage, respectively, to earn athlete of the week honors.
At Sweet Briar last Wednesday, Good picked up nine kills on only two errors to help EMU roll to the 3-0 win. She also added four digs and a service ace as EMU won 30-26, 30-21, 30-28. Good's day at home against Roanoke on Saturday was even better, as she notched 11 kills with only two errors. On the defensive side Good had six digs, but the Lady Royals could not pull out the win as they fell in three, 30-23, 30-28, 30-25.
The Lady Royals have gotten off to a slow start this year, but Good says the team is optimistic for the rest of the season. "We have the potential to be a great team," she says, "we just have to come together and decide to make it happen." As a captain, Good currently leads the Royals with 2.75 kills per game and a .227 season hitting percentage.
A native of Alberta, Canada, Good has lived in Ecuador for the past four years while not at EMU. She double majors in business and photography, is an SGA senator, and enjoys long boarding in her spare time.
On Friday, EMU will compete in the Fighting Squirrel Showdown, hosted by Mary Baldwin. Good and the rest of the Lady Royals will look to add some wins to a record of 1-4 in the ODAC, 5-11 overall.
