All-You-Can-Eat Steak at Wood Grill

In a restaurant, two things are important: a beautiful atmosphere and good service. If these two things are good, then generally the food will taste excellent.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived at the Wood Grill is that parking might be a future problem for the restaurant. The parking lot is not big enough to accommodate a lot of patrons, making parking very miserable. After I found a parking spot and went in, I was welcomed by a brick fireplace, light music, a nice sitting area, and a friendly greeting. The warm welcome quickly made me forget my parking troubles.

Walking to my seat, I had a chance to glance around and take a look at the wonderful buffet that I was about to try. I liked how the Wood Grill has each section of food groups presented in a way fit for a king. The ambiance of the restaurant was very good; the beautiful lighting and vibrant colors set the tone for my meal.

The breads were freshly baked, warm and ready for consumption, and the salad bar had every possible topping that a salad could have. They ask you if you want a complimentary baked potato or sweet potato before your meal, which is unique from other buffets. Other items on the buffet include sirloin steaks, grilled chicken, fried chicken, shrimp, barbecue ribs, chicken fajitas, steak fajitas, and pork chops.

They also have an array of tasty veggies to go along with the meat, such as green beans, corn, collard greens, and carrots. Some of the sides were macaroni and cheese, sweet apples, fries, rice, and mashed potatoes. The dessert menu was loaded with apple pie, sweet potato, pecan pie, lemon cake, chocolate cake, carrot cake, cookies, and brownies, not to mention the many available choices of ice cream.

I loaded my first plate with macaroni and cheese, barbecue chicken, carrots, and mashed potatoes. I couldn't complain about the food; I was actually really pleased. I topped off my meal with a nice slice of apple pie and a dip of vanilla ice cream!

My host also made my dinner more enjoyable. The friendly staff greeted me with smiles and often checked on me to make sure I had everything I needed.

The total price for this dining experience was $10.53 with a tip. I encourage students to step out of the normal food choices in the den, cafe, or Chanello's and head over to the Wood Grill Buffet. With the ambiance, service, and cleanliness, the Wood Grill makes for a good meal.
