Jeremy Webster cruises down the straighaway in the 200 meter dash. Webster has been named and All-American in this event.

Finishing first in the 200 meter dash and sixth in the 55 meter dash, as well as playing an important role in the 4x400 meter relay that led EMU to a fourth place finish at the Marietta Open has earned Jeremy Webster Player of the Week honors.

The EMU men's indoor track team is off to a solid start after last Saturday at Marietta College in Ohio, where Jeremy assisted in leading the men's team to a sixth place finish out of 15 teams. Jeremy, a senior from Hampton, Virginia, started running track when the track coach from his high school approached him during a soccer practice and asked him if he wanted to run on the relay team. That was six years ago. Since then, he has been named an All-Conference athlete in indoor and outdoor track, an All-American in the 200 meter dash, a five-time national qualifier, and Co-Athlete of the Meet-Outdoor 2006.

Coach Seth McGuffin comments on Jeremy's success in track, saying, "He is a great team leader that worked really hard and worked toward his goals during the past four years. And because of this, he has achieved and will achieve so much more."

When asked why he decided to run track, Jeremy said, "I run because I have always enjoyed running and it gets me away from everything else in life." In between practices, meets, and studying for classes in his communication major, Jeremy enjoys relaxing, hanging out with friends, and playing Playstation and Nintendo Wii.

The next indoor meet for the men's team will be this Friday at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Commenting on this year's overall team, Jeremy says, "We are a hard working team that has great chemistry and because of our work ethic and chemistry, we should be very successful this year as individuals and as a team."
