Ask Amanda

Dear Amanda,
Recently, I heard a devastating rumor. I have it from a mostly credible source that this is your last column ever for the Weather Vane. Is this horrible rumor true and what will EMU do without you?
-Confused and Hurt Loyal Reader
Dear Loyal Reader,
Alas, my time at beloved EMU has come to an end. Though you cannot see the proof of my sorrow evident by my tear-stained, ink-smeared written words (the droplets fried my laptop instead), I'm still deeply saddened to leave a campus and readership that has been so close to my heart.
I have truly enjoyed doling out essential advice (solicited or un-). However I'm sure that this brief column-writing stint has taught me far more than it's informed my readers. The meticulous process of advice-column writing has proved both humbling and challenging. I have found students to be unusually timid when it comes to seeking counsel on even the most dire of dilemmas. For a campus of 800 twenty-somethings, most of who live in a constant state of identity crisis and relationship confusion, disappointingly few sought the sagacious advice of this Sagittarius. Sigh.
When I finally did obtain a question (95% not composed by yours truly), I consistently endeavored to wittily craft a creative response without making lame speculations or grossly biased recommendations all the while sustaining an inconspicuous sense of grace, style, and elegant ease. What ever will you do with out me?
It will all be okay. Mourn my absence with cries and chocolate. Pour over old Ask Amandas in hopes of memorizing the timeless counsel. In times of desperation, ask What Would Amanda Advise? Never fear! I'm leaving you in the competent hands of a wise successor. Trouble not. Go in Peace.
