Tunnel of Oppression Gauntlet

As part of Dialogue on Race week, a Tunnel of Oppression was created through the first floor of University Commons. Participants visited stations at which they heard stories of groups that have historically suffered oppression for a variety of reasons. Participants were escorted in silence by masked leaders. In one station, the Gauntlet (pictured above), participants themselves becames the objects of hatred as masked guides hurled insults at them.

Students take the air on WEMC

In the next couple of weeks, WEMC, EMU's public radio station, will begin to air content that may get the attention of more EMU students, as well as others in the community. Read more...

Student housing policies modified

A new campus housing policy requires that students must live on EMU campus until they are a senior and are 21 years or older.
Unlike the current policy, which allows students to move off campus after they reach their 21st birthday or achieve senior status, the new policy means that students have to fill both requirements to live off campus. Read more...
