Report from Amish Country

On Tuesday, Oct. 11, Kirsten Beachy presented several creative writing pieces, including her recently-published short story, "Report from Amish Country." Discussion about creative writing in Anabaptist circles and about her experiences writing for non-Mennonites about Anabaptist culture followed her presentation.

Union of Student Organizations

The Union of Student Organizations (USO) had its first meeting of the year on Tuesday night. USO was created last year by SGA as a way of bringing together the various student clubs and organizations on campus and is now a standing committee under SGA. Student representatives from various campus clubs and organizations introduced themselves, shared goals for the year and discussed ways that different organizations could join together in planning and promoting events.

Homecoming 2005 festivities this weekend

This weekend, Oct. 14-16, the EMU community will celebrate the 2005 Homecoming and Family Weekend with a variety of events. Musical, athletic, artistic, and family-oriented events will be happening all over campus to welcome families, friends, and alumni.
