The EMU men's tennis team competed at a high level over the weekend and hopes to be hitting their stride as the second half of the season begins.

This past weekend the EMU men's tennis team traveled to Guilford and Emory & Henry and posted two ODAC wins, improving their overall record to 4-3 and their ODAC record to 3-3. The Royals beat Guilford on Saturday 5-2 with wins coming from #1 Ian Koons, #4 Andrew Wetzel, #5 Adam Chupp and #6 Ben Ruth. The Royals won #3 and #2 doubles to give EMU their fifth point. On Sunday, the Royals eked out a win over Emory and Henry in a close match. Chalking up wins for the Royals were #1 Ian Koons, #3 Austin Baer, and #5 Adam Chupp. The match came down to the doubles point, which EMU #1 and #3 doubles teams won easily.

The season has started very well for the Royals who have high hopes for the second half of the season and hope to be more competitive in the ODAC tournament than in previous years. This week is a busy one for the squad with home matches Thursday the 30th against Southern Virginia and Friday the 31st against ODAC opponent Lynchburg. With both Southern Virginia and Lynchburg coming to town, the Royals have a good chance of coming out on top. So come out, support the team, and enjoy the ever-warmer weather.

The men finish out their season with an away match against Bridgewater on April 3rd, and home matches against Virginia Wesleyan on April 8th and Hampden-Sydney on April 11th. The ODAC tournament for Men's Tennis is scheduled for Friday and Saturday April 14th and 15th in Lexington, VA.
