Weekly discussions begin

Ted Grimsrud and Dan Wessner lead the first discussion on the book God's Politics: Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It today in the East Dining hall. The book, by Jim Wallis, is available in the EMU bookstore for five dollars for members of SASS. Wallis will be on campus on the tail end of poverty week on February 21. For any questions on what to read for next week, contact either Grimsrud or Wessner.

Upcoming semi-formal

EMU's traditional winter Semi-formal is coming up on Saturday, January 28th. This CAC sponsored event will be located at the Holiday Inn. The cost per student is $12 and it includes a meal. Students will be able to dance the night away as friends, couples or singles to music of their own choices from a DJ. Tickets will be sold in the Cafeteria during lunch through Friday.

Country-western dance club

The Shenandoah Valley chapter of Leather and Lace country-western dance club is offering a winter series of dance classes starting Friday, January 20, at the Dayton Learning Center, 290 Mill St. Club members will teach beginning line dances and couples dances 7:30-10:30 p.m. for eight consecutive Friday nights in a smoke- and alcohol-free environment. Cost is $25 for the entire series if paid the first night or $5 per class. For more information, contact Jim Bishop at ext. 4211.

Y-trip sign-ups
