Player of the week: Nathan Turner

This week's featured athlete is Nathan Turner, a freshman from Elkton, Va., who competes in throwing events for the men's indoor track team.

In Saturday's invitational at Virginia Military Institute, Turner not only placed first in both the shot put and the 35-pound weight throw events, but also broke the previous EMU record for the weight throw by six feet, and the previous EMU record for shot put by nine feet.

Turner will next throw for the Royals this Saturday when the team travels to Carlisle, Pa., to compete in the DuCharme Invitational.
