Steve Benson
Women's and Men's Volleyball Head Coach
This fall and winter, Steve Benson will begin as the women's and men's volleyball head coach, replacing Dr. Ruth-Anne Wideman and Fred Miller, respectively. Benson served for five years in coaching positions at Lake-Sumter Community College in Leesburg, Fla., prior to coming to EMU, and for four years as head coach at Leesburg High School. Benson also coached on a national level as the head coach of the High Performance age group for Team Florida. Benson played four years and coached two of those years while attending North Park University.

David King
Athletic Director
David King joined EMU's athletic department on July 1, 2005, replacing Greg Steffen, who was serving as interim AD after Larry Martin resigned in October of last year. Prior to EMU, King was athletic director and middle school principal at Lancaster Mennonite School, where he has served since 1991. Before that he was executive director for five years at Camp Hebron in Halifax, Pa. and was athletic director and a health and physical education teacher for ten years at Locust Grove Mennonite School in Lancaster, Pa. He also has high school coaching experience. King graduated from EMU in 1976 with a B.S. in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Camping, and Youth Ministries, and has a M. Ed. in Education Administration from Temple University. King is married and has three children, one of whom graduated in 2003 from EMU, and two who are currently attending EMU.

Mark Mace
Baseball Head Coach
Starting this coming season, Mark Mace will replace Rob Roeschly as the baseball head coach. Mace graduated from EMU in 1990 with a B.S. in Special Education. This will be his first college-level coaching position; he coached high school baseball at both Monticello High School, Charlottesville, Va., and Parry McCluer High School, Buena Vista, Va., before returning to EMU to coach. Mace is excited to be back at EMU, in a Christian community, and to coach at the collegiate level.
