Big music at EMHS

The internationally-acclaimed music group "Kulna Sawa" will be giving a concert at Eastern Mennonite High School at 7 p.m. this Tuesday. The 11-person group is made up of Christians and Muslims and combines Middle Eastern music with the beat and style of popular American music. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the EMU box office.

"SLAM" tonight in Common Grounds

The movie "Slam" features poet Saul Williams and depicts slam poetry, drugs and African American culture in Washington, D.C. There will be a discussion afterwards with Black Student Union members and Washington Community Scholars' Center. Due to brief nudity, this film is rated R.

200 school kits sent

Over 200 school kits were put together last week by the EMU community. They will be sent to MCC, which will then ship them to schools in need around the world. The drive will continue until Friday, Nov. 19 with hopes that the total will reach 300.
