The Board of Trustees approved the addition of a pre-law minor for the 2005-2006 school year, making EMU the only North American Mennonite college to offer it.

"The minor's broad interpretation of ethics - personal, professional, domestic, and global - coupled with EMU's mission, should help our students stand out, gaining admission to regional and nationally-ranked law schools," said Associate Professor of International and Political Studies Dr. Daniel Wessner.

According to a survey taken in October of this year, more than 30 current students said they might be interested.

The minor was approved with a 98 percent affirmative vote at the undergraduate faculty meeting on Nov. 5, and the Board of Trustees gave their final approval during their meetings held Nov. 12-13.
