Paul Rusesabagina, the inspiration of the fact-based movie Hotel Rwanda, spoke at JMU Tuesday evening. Above, he interacts with students after his presentation. Rusesabagina saved 1,268 refugees during the 1994 genocide and civil war that pitted Rwandan Hutus and Tutsis against one another. An estimated fifty EMU and CTP students and professors were among the hundreds left waiting in line after the 620-seat theater where Rusesabagina was speaking filled up. The event was sponsored by Hillel, JMU's Jewish student organization, as part of Holocaust Remembrance Week.
