Here we go again - this semester kicked off right where the last one left off, with the firing of Dr. Tom Arbaugh. I’ll cut right to the point. The manipulation of EMU by donors with an agenda is disgusting and the timid way that the EMU administration sells itself out to these people makes me angry. Thanks to the unclear decision making process on campus and the vague statements coming from the President, I don’t really know exactly what happened or precisely why he was fired. Read more...
In the last (Sept. 18) issue of the Weather Vane, Jeff Thoman wrote a letter to the editor criticizing the recent editions of our student newspaper. In his letter, he outlined a couple of points that he felt the editors were falling short on. Upon my entrance to EMU as a freshman, I didn’t know a lot of things. Even with my ignorance, there were some things I did know, and many of them have been significantly challenged throughout my career here at EMU.
