Last weekend, a group of 47 EMU students traveled to Ocean City, Md., to volunteer at the Youth For Christ Impact 2004 youth conference. They helped in various ways including set-up, tear-down, security, selling merchandise, and acting as workshop liasons.
Above: EMU students volunteer as security personnel in the lobby of the conference center. “During the weekend, I felt like guarding my little garage door was kind of pointless, but after hearing about the number of people who were saved or recommitted to Christ, I felt better about my role in the conference,” said Joel Shradley, who worked as security and also helped organize the trip.
