Junior Shannon Terranova got her long hair cut on Tuesday in order to donate it to Locks of Love. This is her second time donating her hair, this time giving just over 17 inches. She says the reactions she has gotten range “from people not recognizing me, to screaming in the cafeteria that it looks good, to people being mad that I cut my hair.” Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides wigs for children with long-term medical hair loss. “My hair is going to make a kid really, really happy,” says Terranova.
In honor of Black History Month, EMU is hosting a buffet of attractions this weekend.
Events kick off on Friday evening with a drama group called Future, made up of nine young adults from the Bronx, NYC. Their play is entitled "wHaChAgoNNadU?" and uses original poetry, stories, and music to confront real issues in their lives. Read more...

Dressed in a bright pink hat, black-and-red patterned pants, and high heels, Melody Pannell looks like she has stepped off the fashion pages of Vogue or is coming straight from a 5th Avenue clothing store.
Pannell is entering her office at EMU as director of Multicultural Services. Her office door is adorned with pictures of her students, and inside the office welcomes all into a friendly atmosphere, with many candles and music playing in the background. Read more...
