The bench looks on in the closing moments of Tuesday’s loss at BC.

Laura Ludholtz lit up Nineger Hall for 25 points and Stephanie Mathews scored 17, but the Lady Royals fell to Bridgewater College 79-74 Tuesday.

Bridgewater freshman Katy Herr, once highly recruited by EMU, scored a team high 25 points. She also pulled down six rebounds and had three assists and three steals.

Both teams played with solid fundamentals. The Royals committed only 15 turnovers, and Bridgewater committed 12. EMU shot 24-29 from the free throw line, and the Eagles connected on 15 of 20 attempts.

EMU fell to 16-2 overall and 12-2 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Eagles regained a share of first place in the conference. They improved to 14-4 overall and 12-2 in the ODAC.
