Senior forward Kristen Moyer gave first year coach Brenda Bechler more than enough to be optimistic about in the Lady Royal’s season opener.

Moyer scored four goals in the first half and added two more in the second half as the lady Royals downed conference opponent Sweet Briar 12-1 Saturday afternoon. Her 14 total points are a new single match record. Gina Hoover held the record of 12 points, a mark she put up in 1991.

Junior Molly Harrington scored three goals of her own, and Jonalyn Denlinger had three assists for the game. Tessa Grub, Lisa Ehst, and Denlinger rounded out the scoring.
