Who taught us that Christian stupidity was our birthright? As a Christian who just happens to be a student of theology, philosophy, and Biblical exegesis and interpretation, I find it rather disconcerting that, for whatever reason, dullness of mind is taken for spiritual profundity. Not only is this illuminating thesis implicitly assumed by a great many of us, it is also explicitly taught and condoned as "humility" or "self-denial." Read more...
Two years ago, next Thursday, America was the victim of a well-organized terrorist assault. The fateful day impacted the nation to such an extent that no one old enough to comprehend the images of the Twin Towers crumbling to the ground, fire trucks surrounding a burning Pentagon, and a smoldering heap of metal where Flight 93 came to rest in central Pennsylvania will ever forget where they were when they first received the news that America was under attack. As some of you may have noticed, I recently chopped all my hair off. I did it in the middle of May, right when it was starting to get hot. I remember complaining to my Wikasika (WCSC) housemates that it was too hot and I’m just going to cut all my hair off so I don’t have to deal with it any more--you know, what every girl says every year when summer starts.
