At the most recent town meeting on Tuesday afternoon, some of the principal topics of discussion were construction proposals. There are plans in place for renovation of the old gymnasium, an annex on the science center, and more vague, long-term ideas that involve restructuring the campus to include an obvious entrance and Welcome Center. There’s even an idea floating around to create a new student center that would include Common Grounds, SGA offices, The Weathervane, and the Shen.

Readers need only look to EMU’s basketball courts at night, where competitions of epic proportions are settled in the only way a decent society knows how—intramural floor hockey. Hockey may not be the only outlet for society’s competitions, but at Eastern Mennonite University, floor hockey is safe, splendidly fair, and intensely exciting.
