Council Starts Sustainability Discussion, Action

Are we living at the leading edge of a new wave of concern for creation? Jonathan Lantz-Trissel, EMU’s recycling and waste reduction coordinator, believes we might be. “I think there is a real growing interest [in environmental issues],” Lantz-Trissel commented after the first campus-wide Creation Care Council meeting. “We are getting things going that have never been done here.”

Students Follow Immigrant Path into Arizona

From May 27 to June 2, four EMU students walked 75 miles from Sasabe, Mexico to Tucson, Arizona.  They participated in the fourth annual Migrant Trail Walk to remember the migrants that died while attempting to cross the Arizona desert into the United States.

I’ve seen “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” and now I understand the real reason for these adjectives—it wouldn’t be hard to get fat on Greek food, especially with some of what I tried at Dave’s Downtown Taverna. Dave’s Downtown Taverna, with its Greek and American cuisine, has two locations: 121 S. Main Street (Rt. 11) and 810 Port Republic Road. I visited the one on Main Street, right around Court Square.
